Chapter 85 Two Boxes
- Her hands were sweating and a slight pain in her lower belly was present as she passed through the automatic doors of the supermarket. She gave a little jump when the security guard, to whom she normally said good morning, greeted her. With a tense smile and wave in response, she glanced at the long counter in front of the cash registers and hurried to the first row of products. She returned soon after with her cheeks burning, remembering that she would need a cart, certain that she would now attract attention.
- It was customary to do the shopping in the middle of the month, but on that day there was something different that made her tense. When she had picked up the list upon returning to the apartment, she had thought that she would have a worry-free time, with no opportunity to remember her cousin's harsh words, but as she went over it, she was struck by another worry.
- She took a deep breath and read the first item. The list was made in a way that would go through each aisle and not forget anything or get distracted by other products. An effective method, learned from her mother, that prevented unnecessary spending, both of money and time.
