Chapter 56 Anomaly
- It was a temporary anomaly, caused by anxiety, the suspense that Simon had implanted with his promise the night before, and the tension of pretending to be his lover. That was the only explanation for the butterflies in her stomach, which swirled around before descending as heat to her groin, the exhilaration of her heart, and that strange desire to smile when she saw him enter the kitchen.
- Wearing grey sweatpants and a blue t-shirt with an abstract black print, Simon sat next to her, his smirk making her suspicious. That was a danger sign, although she didn't fear him as much as she had a few days earlier. It only amplified all those strange sensations, considering that before classes, she only experienced the first symptom.
- "At your request, we'll practice the stages of flirting and conquest," he said, reaching for the cup and coffee bottle that Paulina had placed on the counter. He served himself the hot liquid, rejecting the plate of cookies in front of him. "I'll teach you how to attract with a touch, or even less than that," he informed her between sips of his drink.
