Chapter 70 Are You Up For It?
- The day of her long-awaited - and canceled - wedding had arrived. A day that would have been special and memorable began like any other, with no expectation of anything new or exciting. She spent the morning and early afternoon moving like a robot around the apartment, efficiently doing her chores while daydreaming about what she would do when Simon returned.
- At 5 pm, she thought her worries would take a break during her kickboxing class, but soon the class became a sacrifice. Her concentration was zero, her movements slow and clumsy, and the woman she practiced with - ironically the same woman who had said days before that Simon would find someone else - smiled satisfied, advancing. Moreover, there were the glances in her direction, perhaps because she was a flabby and clumsy mess, but she feared it was something more.
- Around her, except for Thiago, there were only women, as Wednesday classes required. None of them liked her. The others exchanged greetings, participated in classes together, but outside of class, they pretended she was invisible. She was sure they had sniffed out the end of her "relationship" with Simon and were preparing to pounce when he returned.
