Chapter 66 Bungee Jump
- Paulina rolled over her bed for the thousandth time. Struggling to sleep, with the blanket tangled around her legs and arms like a cocoon with every anguished turn of her body. She pushed the fabric away, freeing herself from it and throwing it to the floor, and stared at the ceiling, her hair mixed with sweat stuck to her face and her breathing uneven.
- She reached out, grabbing her phone from the niche above her head to check the time. She had been in agony for two hours. Exhausted from trying to force herself to sleep, she sat on the bed for a few minutes, her feet floating a few inches off the ground. She squeezed the sheet between her fingers, feeling her chest tight with the irrational desire to cry.
- She put on her slippers, walked to the window of her room, pulled the curtain and leaned her forehead and hands on the cold glass, contemplating the few lights in the other buildings and the ones that illuminated the streets, gradually looking up at the starry sky with an almost full moon.
