Chapter 69 Rescue

• I push out of his arms, landing on my feet with a thud, and immediately take off sprinting back into the burning room. He curses from behind me and I hear his footsteps pounding against the floor after me.
• I know why he chases me but his priority has, and always will be, me. He got me out of that room. I'm safe, and that's all that matters to him. I shake my head as I run, pushing my body to it's limit. In this moment, nothing else matters. I can't let Eve die, not after everything we've been through. I know it's a bad idea, but I rush back into the flame-filled room anyway, shoving the door open.
