Chapter 27 A Ghost
- Daniel
- Nurse Eve is as much a ghost in the wind as that stupid annoying little friendly one that my younger brother Michael used to watch on the television all the time when he was a child. No one has even heard of a nurse with that name which makes me want to do nothing but knock the guards' heads together for even allowing her entry into the palace--let alone my pregnant wife's personal quarters. My parents and my brother are doing all they can to keep me reigned in but even I can tell they feel nearly the same way I do. I haven't seen my parents this angry since my mother was insulted by the English Prime Minister when he mixed up his Verillian at a summit a few years ago. My father stays close to her, his hands always around her, and I continuous feel the urge to pull my own wife close, only to painfully remember she isn't by my side. Sitting at the breakfast table in the large ornate dining room as the waitstaff practically tiptoes around me marks three whole days since Annie was taken.
- Three days.
