Chapter 51 The Night Before

• Next, nurses and doctors fill the room. A few of them wheel in different machines and other equipment and they begin to fret around me, taking my temperature, blood pressure, and even a sample of my blood. Eve sits across from me and I insist that they look her over as well. Daniel gives them a nod and they begin to examine her.
• One of the doctors gives me an ultrasound and insures me that both of our children are thankfully perfectly healthy. Daniel grips my hand in his own throughout the whole examination, refusing to leave my side even when a nurse tries to politely ask him to move away so she can examine me further. He growls at her and I give his hand a gentle squeeze to try my best to calm him down. I know he's been through a lot these past few days and I can only imagine the toll its taken on him. Daniel's always been very protective and I just know that he went crazy knowing I was in danger and there was nothing he could do about it.
