Chapter 273 Retaliation By The Divorced Heiress
- Savoring his tea, Christopher's lips formed a lovely smile. He had the air of a young, cultured aristocrat living in the present era. They conversed as they caught up with one another. Bella found out that Christopher had devoted his time to caring for his mother while she was recuperating in Sentania. After receiving an Alzheimer's diagnosis, his mother's capacity to care for herself gradually decreased. He had plenty of chances to go back to Savrow, but he chose to stay in Sentania to take care of his mother and advance his career. The dynamics of the Iverson family were complicated, she recalled. Christopher was one of the four children in the Iverson family; he had two older brothers and one older sister.
- All three of them had the same mother. However, Christopher added another level of complexity to the family structure as he was the kid of the second marriage. Bella knew very little about Mrs. Iverson. She had visited the Iverson estate, and their families had once been close when she was a child, but she still had no memory of that lady. "Why did you suddenly come back this year?" inquired Bella once more. "The heart is where the home is." I mean, I'm an Iverson family son after all. Chris murmured, dropping his gaze, "I wanted to come back and reclaim a part of what belongs to me." His thin fingertips played with the fragile teacup. Bella gave him a small nod, realizing what he meant.
- Rich and prominent families frequently had children who were embroiled in power struggles. Those who failed to negotiate the power struggle were taken advantage of and eventually had little to show for their wealthy origins. A happy, close-knit elite family like the Thompsons was after all uncommon. With a smirk, Christopher inquired abruptly, "There's still some time before dinner." As for what you would like to do, "What?" Bella was taken aback by the abrupt offer and was shocked for a time. "I can take you to see the roses under the sunset," Christopher went on. With genuine expression in his eyes, he leaned slowly in her direction. "Today is our public exhibition, and I have a private rose garden. Let’s go enjoy the flowers together.”
