Chapter 26 Are You a Demon?
- "Daddy, I was wrong!"
- Travis couldn't be reckless with the blackmail material in her hand. The online storm had not yet completely subsided, and if another heavyweight piece of evidence emerged, he would never be able to go back.
- Gemma finished her drink and stood up. "You all count here, not a word less. I'm going back first."
- Leticia didn't hesitate to take on this task. Gemma walked to the parking lot without looking back and leaned against her car to enjoy the breeze.
- "Gemma..."
- Joel's hoarse voice sounded behind her. She turned around and looked at him with a distant expression.
- Noticing her shift from relaxed to guarded, Joel lowered his eyes.
- "Vice President Gemma, it's better to call me President Joel than Mr. Summers."
- The parking lot was dark, and it was quiet around them. Joel walked slowly toward her, and his shadow elongated in the light.
- Gemma crossed her arms and watched him with interest as he hesitated to speak.
- "About this morning, I was presumptuous, and I apologize for my mother's and sister's rudeness towards you."
- Gemma smirked and said, "Is this your way of pacifying me?"
- How many dirty things did Faith and Jane do? They couldn't even count themselves. Gemma didn't care about their so-called apologies. The people in the Summers family made her sick.
- "You've misunderstood..."
- Joel frowned, wanting to explain, but Gemma withdrew her smile and kept her distance from him, her lips still curled in disdain.
- Ever since they reunited, she had always mocked him. The girl who used to be so in love with him was nowhere to be found.
- Before Joel could say anything, a commotion was heard nearby. He looked over, and Travis ran out, looking pale and panicked.
- Seeing Gemma, he stiffened. "Did you hire hackers to attack my computer? I warn you, it's illegal!"
- Gemma picked up her phone and showed Travis the video where Leticia recorded Travis saying "Daddy". The audio and visuals were clear, and there was no problem with the video. She smirked and gave him a disdainful glance.
- "Aren't you the one who loves to take videos? It's a shame not to capture such precious moments. I know you're not happy, so I especially waited for you here."
- She knew that Travis held grudges, and even if he lost face now, he would still fight back. So she decided to clarify things with him here.
- "Travis, as long as you behave and stop causing trouble, I won't hold on to this blackmail material. But if you dare to play tricks with Jane again, I'll make you understand what 'black and red' means!"
- Gemma's eyes were cold, and her tone was heavy. Travis was so angry that he couldn't even finish a sentence.
- That gold-digging woman from back then was a country bumpkin that anyone could bully, but now this woman, although named "Gemma", was completely a demon reincarnated!
- Ian's driver had arrived, respectfully bowed, and gentlemanly opened the car door. Gemma didn't even exchange pleasantries with Joel and got into the car coldly.
- It wasn't until the Bugatti disappeared that Joel slowly regained his focus. He wanted to explain things clearly before talking about the second hidden treasure, but Gemma had a great deal of hostility toward him. If they continued to be at odds, he wouldn't be able to get the treasure.
- Vaguely, her graceful and unconstrained appearance while beating up Travis just now made him feel very satisfied. It was done in one go without any hesitation; she didn't need any external help and was beautifully fighting back.
