Chapter 10 Unprofessional Conduct
- The others looked at each other and decided not to bring up any ideas. Gemma pursed her lips. On her first day in office, she didn't want to make enemies, but Karen's audacity was too much. As a level two supervisor who had entered through the back door, where did she get the confidence? Gemma was considering saying something to ease the tension when Karen nervously stood up.
- "I'm sorry, Mr. Mason. I lost my temper. I respect the company's decision and will cooperate with Miss Lewis to familiarize myself with the work."
- "It's Vice President Gemma," Ian corrected her without hesitation.
- Karen's face turned extremely unpleasant, and she apologized again before sitting down. Ian's imposing aura made everyone afraid to trouble Gemma again.
- Gemma didn't mind. Doing well was always more important than saying anything. It wasn't until the end of the meeting that Karen finally breathed a sigh of relief. Grant followed Gemma back to their office.
- "Vice President Gemma, please order me if you have any work for me."
- Gemma knew that he was the secretary that her second brother had cultivated, so she trusted his ability. "There's a new project in the company. Please summarize the information for me."
- "Okay."

- On the day of Patricia's art exhibition, Gemma dressed up, put on delicate makeup, and changed into a crescent white dress. She curled her hair, pinned a pearl hairpin on one side, and draped a white knitted sweater over her shoulders before leaving.
- Darwin was waiting at the door ten minutes early. When he saw her come out, he was stunned. Even though there were many beauties in their circle, he still felt that Leticia's praise was not exaggerated.
- Elegant and sexy, pleasing to the eye, this art exhibition was worth it. Darwin was polite and well-behaved, and Gemma was quite satisfied with him. The journey was not boring either.
- Before the night, she searched for his information online. As a new rising star, Darwin had very high popularity. He was a very handsome boy with fair and translucent skin that was smooth and shiny like good-quality jade.
- His phoenix eyes were quite charming, and his long and charming autumn waves flowed out of his shining and colorful eyes, making him unforgettable at a glance. His lips were as tender and pink as peach blossoms, and his facial features were soft and clear as if they were carved by skilled craftsmen.
- He is like a cute little puppy, no wonder Joel's sister and mother were fans who were crazy about him.
- The art exhibition was held in Patricia's private gallery. Darwin's sports car was the newest model of the year, with a flashy color that attracted many people's attention as soon as it stopped.
- Gemma glanced at the gallery's logo and sneered. This was a gift from Joel to Patricia, and he was always generous.
- She held Darwin's hand and entered the venue. The security guard stopped them for a routine check. Darwin whispered, "In addition to Patricia's paintings today, many famous artists' paintings have been borrowed for exhibition. Some of them have never been shown before."
- Gemma sarcastically raised her lips. "Like the paintings of Master Frances?"
- Although the Quinn family was not one of the top families in Yarwells, they were still wealthy. Therefore, many people attended the art exhibition organized by Patricia. Gemma looked at the hanging paintings, unable to discern their taste, but the decorative style was pleasing to the eye. Even the decorations in the gallery were more meaningful than the paintings. She vaguely remembered that a vase was a representative work of an artist.
- To publicize the event, the Quinn family put in a lot of effort and informed various media outlets. Even the Verity news outlet had prepared an article to praise the exhibition.
- Patricia wore a plain shirt with a black skirt, had deliberately worn glasses, and tied her hair into a ponytail, looking like a literary young woman. It was such a different look from her usual appearance that Darwin didn't recognize her at first.
- Gemma walked leisurely towards the second floor, not seeing Joel's figure. Patricia had already looked outside the door several times. The second floor also had a rest area with food and drinks and was much quieter with fewer people.
- "Gemma." Darwin handed her a glass of orange juice. "Let's sit down for a bit."
- "Thank you."
- As Gemma walked in, she had already looked around and didn't see Frances' masterpiece. Just as she was wondering, someone came in and started talking loudly while getting a drink.
- Most of them were praising Patricia, and Darwin talked about interesting things in the circle. Gemma was just about to steer the conversation in that direction when suddenly a sharp female voice rang in her ears.
- "How did you get in?"
- Jane's surprised voice raised a few heads. Whenever she saw Gemma, she would feel superior as the young lady of the Summers family, looking down on her.
- The perfect face stimulated her, making her very unhappy. This was Patricia's place, and she became more and more reckless.
- "Do you even know where this is? How could you get in? Do you think this is a market? You and those joint-ordering socialites, dreaming of marrying rich second-generation men, don't even know your own identities!"
- Jane became more and more arrogant as she spoke. "I'm warning you; don't play any tricks with me, or I'll make sure you can't survive in Yarwells. You've probably ordered a lot of things to get in here - this dress, this bag - are they not all ordered together..."
- Jane saw Gemma as soon as she came in and only thought of ridiculing her, spouting all kinds of insulting words. She said a lot before realizing that a man was standing next to her, and she was about to insult Gemma further when she found that he looked familiar.
- On closer inspection, wasn't this Darwin? Jane widened her eyes in disbelief, and her face changed.
- "You, Darwin, you..."
- Gemma ignored her and turned her head to look at Darwin. He had a cold face. "She's my friend, and I brought her in."
- "I don't believe it; how can you be with her? You've been deceived!" Jane couldn't believe it and shook her head, almost crying.
- Gemma remained silent from beginning to end, watching her performance quietly, like watching a clown. Seeing Jane's incoherent and embarrassed appearance, she put down her glass. "Let's go."
- "Don't go!"
- Jane was about to go crazy. Gemma was just an internet celebrity; why did she have everything? Her beloved idol had an affair with her, and this realization almost killed her.
- "Miss, you have spoken rudely to my friend. Please apologize." Darwin didn't want to indulge her, and his voice was even colder than before.
- "What did you say? Did you want me to apologize? How could I apologize to her? I would rather die!"
- "Please apologize now."
- Darwin didn't care about her tears at all and was a little impatient. He looked at the security guard at the door, seeming to be suggesting that if she didn't apologize, she would have to be kicked out.
- "There are media here." Gemma didn't want him to get into trouble, so she walked towards the gallery first. Darwin gave Jane a disgusted look and followed closely behind.
- The latter was so angry that her eyes turned red, and she wanted to catch up with them. They had only taken a few steps when they ran into Joel and Patricia, with reporters following closely behind.
- The scene suddenly became tense. Patricia was also quite surprised, but she quickly reacted and greeted Darwin.
- Gemma thought that Patricia would exchange a few pleasantries and leave, but to her surprise, Patricia let out a light exclamation, and her expression was somewhat surprised and touched.
- "Darwin, I didn't expect that you and your good friend also liked my paintings. I am honored."
- Gemma raised an eyebrow. This statement was filled with insincerity. Where did she see that they were good friends, and how did she see that they liked her paintings?
