Chapter 25 Damn Fate
- "Travis is good at joking. Mr. Summers is not a confused man. No wonder he can sit down and gamble. He is at the level of the big bosses." Gemma smiled lightly and even applauded, but Joel wasn't as optimistic in his heart.
- "It's too late to flatter me now. What do you want? Do you want to use the beauty trick to be unreasonable? Let me tell you, it won't work in front of everyone just because you can cry."
- "Travis, did you not brush your teeth when you went out this morning? Your mouth stinks!" Leticia couldn't hold back anymore. She could even fight, and who knows who couldn't beat who.
- Seeing that Leticia was about to flip the table, Gemma smiled and lightly ran her slender fingers over the edge of the cards. Her index finger seemed to accidentally tap the back of the card, and then she opened it generously.
- Without even looking, everyone knew what expression the people on the scene had. "Travis, do you surrender?"
- Except for Mark and Cecilia, who remained calm, everyone else was stunned. Joel seemed to have known the result long ago, without any ripples.
- Travis took a breath of cold air and couldn't believe what he saw. It was the King of Spades! How could it be so coincidental? She didn't even look at the cards and just randomly drew one, and it was the King of Spades? Her luck was too good; he didn't believe it!
- This time, Leticia laughed out loud, holding her phone and standing up. "Travis, a man's words count. You said it yourself: Don't think crying in front of everyone will work."
- "I don't believe it! This is too coincidental. There is only one King of Spades in the whole deck, and she happened to draw it! This round doesn't count; I want to play dice!"
- Travis' face turned red, and his expression was colorful.
- "Travis, you took the initiative to suggest playing, and no one forced you to bet. You agreed to it yourself. If you can't afford to lose, don't accuse others of being unfair. You have no shame and don't want to admit defeat?"
- Leticia had long been displeased with him. If he dared not admit defeat today, she would make sure he couldn't leave!
- "Mr. Summers, what do you think?" Gemma sneered and looked directly at Joel without any fear.
- Travis kicked him, and his face was full of pleading, regretting his impulsiveness.
- Joel looked around and glanced at Mark and Michael before finally fixing his gaze on his good friend. "A man's words count."
- He ignored Travis' plea for help and felt that Gemma's actions were not right from the beginning, so he was not surprised when the cards were opened.
- On the contrary, he was relieved when he lost.
- Travis would never give in. He looked to Stephen for help. "Stephen, say something!"
- "Those who gamble must be prepared to lose."
- Travis spat out a mouthful of old blood. He would have been better off not speaking.
- After Joel said his goodbyes and left, he left behind a desperate and resentful brother, Gemma's friends who were watching him closely, and the desire to die.
- Especially with Leticia, her eyes seemed to want to torture him. Travis cursed countless times in his heart. He was blinded and ended up with a foolish brother.
- He looked at the woman in front of him, Gemma, who was sitting there calmly, holding up her glass and shaking it at him.
- Travis touched his head and spoke weakly, "I didn't expect you to be named Gemma too. Joel's ex-wife was also named Gemma. Look, we're so fated, can't we just leave it at that?"
- Mark couldn't be bothered to talk to him and kicked his calf, causing Travis to cry out in pain and kneel. Seeing no way to escape, he reluctantly yelled, "Daddy."
- "Speak complete sentences and make the subject, verb, and object clear." Gemma glanced at him and said, "In light of our fate, if you say 'Daddy, I was wrong.' a hundred times, we can let this matter go."
- "Don't push your luck!" Travis refused and struggled to get up.
- "Travis, the video and photos I posted online can be said to be from before your marriage, but what about after? I don't think public relations will be so easy to handle then. If you don't keep your word, then I..."
