Chapter 21 A Narrow Road for Enemies
- Gemma suppressed her anger and went to the office. Grant hesitated for a moment and asked, "Vice President, are you still going to meet with the Justice Group tonight?"
- "Royce is being led by Karen. Let's wait until she comes out. Let the lawyers handle today's events."
- Karen was able to come up with such a low-level trick, which was disgusting. Gemma sneered. She would repay her when she came out.
- Her phone beeped, and she looked at it to see a message from her good friend, Cecilia Potts. "I closed a big deal in Finry. Sister, your fame has increased again."
- Gemma smiled. "Is the dress for the film festival confirmed?"
- "Of course, wearing the haute couture of Mosha Flower is the focus. You are the only designer invited to participate in Finry's haute fashion week. Let's celebrate your return to the team by going to 'Chaos City' tonight."
- Gemma hadn't seen her friends for a long time and readily agreed. Leticia's message followed. To make it easier to contact her, she specially created a group and invited not only old friends but also Darwin. She even generously sent a red envelope.
- Gemma was helpless. Leticia had worked hard to match her with Darwin. After she married Joel, she lost contact with these friends. Fortunately, they didn't hold grudges, and she missed them very much.
- "Chaos City" was a well-known club in Yarwells that included various entertainment facilities. Leticia liked to hang out at bars, so they went for a drink first.
- Travis was scolded by his elders at home and had nowhere to vent his anger. He pulled a few of his brothers out to complain. As soon as he walked in, he saw his arch-nemesis and cursed under his breath.
- Joel followed his gaze and couldn't help but stare.
- Gemma was wearing a black dress; her slender waist was small enough to be held in one hand; her hair was like seaweed draped over her ears; and her whole person was like a night witch.
- "It's unbelievable. I can run into this woman wherever I go. Could she be intentionally creating coincidences?"
- Travis muttered. Leticia and the others naturally saw Joel's group of people too. Although they didn't like them, they couldn't just walk away every time they met them, or it would seem like they were scared.
- Leticia heard him muttering and coldly retorted, "Young Master Travis, has the online fire been put out? You've become famous on the Internet. Can your family still let you go out drinking?"
- Travis' parents were more conservative and had more restrictions on him. It was easy to guess what kind of scolding he received when he went home.
- He gave Gemma a resentful glance and sneered. "I was set up by someone. I look like a man, but I'm spineless. It's indeed good to have a big tree to lean on."
- "You hit the nail on the head, Young Master Travis. You're only so arrogant because you have someone to clean up after your mess, whether it's your parents or your friends." Gemma was not indulging him. "Why bother with them?"
- Cecilia was repulsed by this group of people, and it was best not to have any contact with them. After saying that, she led the way upstairs. Gemma's expression was indifferent, and she didn't glance at Joel as if he were a stranger.
- "Master Michael..." Travis saw the man following them and wanted to greet him, but he didn't receive any response. Joel looked at him like he was trash and left haughtily.
- Travis was so angry that he was internally injured. "Is Michael Carne possessed? He became a follower of that woman! Look at how he's acting like a lackey, isn't he afraid of losing face?"
- Joel's face darkened slightly. "Are you not embarrassed enough? You've already caused trouble as soon as you got here."
- "They were too much to bear!" Travis took several deep breaths. He wanted to see what tricks that woman had up her sleeve to even have Michael under her thumb.
- Although Joel warned against causing trouble, his feet didn't listen and followed Travis. He had only met Michael a few times, but the way he looked at him made it seem like he wanted to eat him alive.
