  • Gertrude shrugged. "He should feel honored. He was my first kill. But after that, I knew we had to hide. I found a safe place for my sister while my parents fought on. It was a bloodbath. Our enemies outnumbered them, but my parents were relentless. Blow after blow, kill after kill, they carved their way through the attackers. For half an hour, the battle raged, but in the end, my parents stood victorious. As leaders of the strongest organization, they had to win. And they did."
