• LILY'S POV
• I stood still, now I was beginning to feel nervous by their silence and my gaze shifted nervously between the panel of judges. Their silence was deafening, and for the first time, a flicker of doubt crept into my mind. I had given everything to the performance, drawing on my rich well of past experiences. Was it not enough? Maybe I should have done better. I thought. Was my acting really that bad?
• Lowering my head, I stared at the floor, trying to hide the wave of disappointment washing over me. I had been so confident that the role was mine.
