• I stood amidst a group of elegantly dressed young women and ladies from wealthy families, all of whom bombarded me with questions. They were curious about my life abroad, my radiant beauty, and much more. I answered them politely, my tone composed and refined.
• Beside me stood Casey, projecting the image of a loving and protective mother. But I however, was well aware of the real reason for her presence. Casey was here to monitor my every move, ensuring that I didn’t say anything out of line.
