• The next morning, Lily was startled awake by the sharp chime of her doorbell. Groaning, she buried her face in her pillow, mumbling, "Who in the world is disturbing my sleep so early?" With heavy eyelids, she turned her head to glance at the clock on the nightstand. It was only 11 a.m. She frowned. Who could possibly be at her door at this hour?
• Since she had no work commitments for the day—no shoots or appointments—Lily had planned to catch up on some much-needed rest. Ivy had already left for work, leaving her alone in the house, which made the unexpected visitor all the more surprising.
