• It had been over a week since Lila was admitted to the hospital, but I hadn’t returned to see her since the first day. Although Armani and I had been occupied with setting traps in place for the Mercs and Don Richard, who had been awfully quiet since Daisy’s body was returned to him, it wasn’t really an excuse.
• My real reason was that Armani hadn’t gone to see her either. Of course, he made Jenny send a lot of food and other necessities to keep her comfortable, but he didn’t think that his wife needed to see him.
