Chapter 3
- Waking up in the morning has never been this difficult. Back at home, even though there is no peace whatsoever, there is still freedom.
- I feel trapped in here, and I can't even find myself walking down the stairs as the shame of yesterday is still clear in my mind. I slept in the ridiculous dress that my father made me wear yesterday, as I was not given heed to at least pack a few things.
- I reach out for my purse, finally checking if there is a certain message on my phone that states, "hey girl, come back home, it was all a prank.” But there is nothing of such.
- Not even a single text message from my family.
- It was at this point I knew I have no glimpse of hope.
- I swallow my pride and walk down the stairs, hoping to find Jenny around the corner so that I can borrow her cloth and go and pack my luggage if I am permitted to do so.
- Unfortunately, I do not know my way around here. I tried to locate the kitchen, only to end up in the garden.
- What have I gotten myself into?
- I was on the verge of crying out of frustration when I sight Armani, sitting peaceful enjoying the view of nature.
- Reluctantly, I walked up to him to ask for permission to go home and the way to the kitchen.
- “Good morning” I greeted.
- He looked at me in awe and I wonder what is with the surprised look.
- Did he forget he bought a grown-up like me without my permission?
- “Hmm… Is it okay if I go home to pack a few things?
- I do not have anything to change into, and it's making me feel uncomfortable.” I asked.
- “Oh, my bad. I will have my PA send some cloth over.” He answered.
- “Thank you, but can I still go home?
- There are some things I'd love to have with me.”
- “ I'm afraid not, and you should get used to it, this is your new home.” He said dismissing me.
- I stood there in the same position, and he looked back at me with a questioning look before he realizes that being lost.
- “Oh!” He called out some man who I didn't notice was there earlier and told him to direct me into the kitchen that I was going.
- I find Jenny preparing breakfast in the kitchen when I entered.
- “Good morning” I greeted, beginning to gain her attention.
- “Omg, did you cry all night?”
- “No, I lied.”
- “Your face says it all.” She said in sympathy.
- Have you checked the mirror this morning?
- “No”
- With the mirror being said, I brought out my phone and check my face because I remember Armani reacted the exact way earlier, only that he didn't comment.
- I wasn't surprised when I noticed that my face is a mess.
- I was too caught up with my situation to wash off the makeup last night.
- Crying all night long did not exactly help the situation either. In short, my face is a mess.
- I probably look like a masquerade.
- Jenny followed me into my room so that I can wash my face.
- Then again, I have nobody to wash whatsoever.
- Jenny went into her room to bring me the few things she knew I will be needing and lend me a dress she said she had originally planned to give her daughter, for she did not have anything of my size.
- Luckily for me, her daughter seems to be of the same size as me, seeing how the dress fit in perfectly.
- She asked me to have some rest here, while she went back to the kitchen to finish off what she was cooking. But I can't stand being alone in this room, alone with my thoughts, which is the hardest part right now.
- I followed Jenny into the kitchen as I assist her with the cooking.
- I might be raised with a silver spoon, but I know my way in the kitchen. How could I not when the only people I ever talk to in the house when am bored are the help? You will always find me in the kitchen, gisting if I am not in my room.
- So, that explains it. I am a good cook.
- I help Jenny to set the table as she cleans the kitchen.
- Once I finish, I went to inform Jenny that it is done to know if she will be needing anything else.
- “Can you please inform the boss that the table is set?”
- I went upstairs, and I see two rooms closely beside each other. I wonder which one is his.
- One is around the corner while the other is in the centre of attention.
- I decided to check the one at the corner, thinking it will be the office. I knocked once, twice, but still, no response. I turn the door handle, only to see it unlock.
- I open the door slightly, and I was mesmerized by its beauty.
- I walk in slowly as I observe the beauty of the room.
- It looks like a total masculine room.
- I saw a bookshelf beside his bed and I wanted to check his choice of books when he opened the bathroom door.
- Shit! I didn't hear running water, so I thought he is not inside.
- “Why are you going through my stuff?”
- “ I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. Jenny asked me to inform you that breakfast has been served, and I got confused between the two rooms, so I check in here, thinking it was your office.”
- “There is a door for a reason.”
- “I'm sorry, I knocked at the door, but I didn't hear anyone answer.”
- “So that gives you the reason to enter?”
- “ I guess not.”
- “I will not have you roaming around my room without my permission. You will only come here when I need you or call for you. Is that clear?”
- “ Yes,” I lower my face in shame.
- “And yeah, you can visit your parent's house to pick up whatever it is you needed. I won't be available anyway and if there is anything you need, you can talk to Jenny, she knows how to contact me.”
- I do not need to be told twice before I leave his room.
