Chapter 75

• Abby opened her eyes slowly and yawned. The house was quiet, and she took a moment to remember everything that had happened the day before. It had been her birthday party, and it had been the best day of her life. With a smile on her face, she got out of bed and stretched. She remembered Becky coming in early and telling her she had to go away for a while, but that was okay because Becky always came back.
• She walked over to her closet and opened the door. If Becky wasn’t here to dress her, she would have to dress herself. It’s not that she couldn't do it, just that she had never done it all on her own before. And she had never gotten to choose what she was going to wear. Sometimes she tried to give Becky suggestions, but more often than not, Becky would decide to dress her in different clothes. But not today, today she got to choose.
• Abby looked into the closet and her eyes spied the long pink tutu that was her favorite thing in the world to wear. She pulled it from its hanger and then went back into the closet. She picked a purple t-shirt that had writing on it in glitter. She couldn’t remember what the writing said, but she liked the way it sparkled in the sunlight. Next, she pulled out some tights to go under her tutu. They were stripped in every color of the rainbow and she thought they’d look really good with her pink tutu and her purple top. She got herself dressed, although she wasn’t very good at tying the ribbon on her tutu and the long tails hung down on the ground behind her.
