Chapter 67

• “We’re going to catch a bus again,” Becky told Abby.
• “I liked the bus,” Abby said.
• They waited at the stop and within five minutes the bus arrived. Becky walked up the stairs and paid their fare before leading Abby down the aisle to a spare seat. Abby was full of questions as they rode into the city. Becky explained about the numbers on the buses and how they told you where they were going. She showed Abby that they were on the number fifty-six bus and that it would drop them off at the place where her mother was staying. She let Abby push the button to let the driver know when to stop the bus for them to get off and Abby took it all in like a sponge. Becky didn’t think Abby would ever have to ride the bus again in her life, not with a billionaire for a daddy, but it was like an excursion and an opportunity for her to learn something new.
