Chapter 20
- Mrs Tamas, Alexia’s mother alighted her car with a proud smile on her face. She and her husband made the right choice by using Alexia as a medium of getting back on their feet after several years of being bankrupt and suffering from stigma from their friends. They could now do the things they wanted and live expensively like she had always wanted. Her smile increased as she looked around the Belmont mansion. If anything she was sure Alexia would never regret getting married to Dane either, especially as she had access to a beautiful life like she had always wanted.
- She walked elegantly towards the front door, careful not to gape at the beauty and luxury of the house. The house was indeed breathtaking but despite all these, it still hurts her as a mother that she and her husband had to use their daughter as a collateral for their financial life. She knocked twice on the door and received no response so she entered and for a while, she couldn't take her eyes off the beauty of the interior designs. This is like living in heaven on earth. She thought to herself.
- After a while, she called Alexia's phone again to inform her that she was in the house. Alexia grunted a reply that showed that she was not pleased about the meeting. If anything, she would have preferred to meet her mother at different place and not her house. Grudgingly, she put a decent cloth on and went to join her mother who was already sitting in the living room. She walked down the stairs, carefully trying to avoid her nervousness. After all these years of being her mother's daughter, she was still so nervous and uncomfortable to be in her presence because every move always seemed calculated and unpredictable.
