Chapter 15

• Dane stepped into the bedroom where Alexia was presently asleep, while trying to make his footsteps as soundless as possible so as not to wake her up from her sleep. His eyes roamed all over her body and after a while, he stopped looking at her and went to cover the window in order to stop the sun from entering and penetrating into her sleep. After making sure that the entire room was dimly lit, he walked to where she slept on the bed, carefully crouching beside her.
• His eyes roamed all over her face and his heart swelled at how peaceful she looked while asleep. He still couldn't believe that she had almost gotten killed for the second time in a row because of him. The first time with Ciara was yet to leave his mind now she had imprinted another injury in his heart. He hated how she was always getting into danger because of him and how he was never there to save her despite being the cause of most of her predicaments.
• When he thought about Ciara shot at killing her, his heart bled. She seems to trust him so much and yet he betrayed her by keeping Ciara with him after their marriage.
