Chapter 17

• Hours after Dane left the room, Alexia woke up feeling somewhat happy and in a better mood than she was before going to sleep. She tried to remember if she had had a happy dream but nothing came to her. Her nose caught the whiff of a familiar cologne and she tried to place who used that type of cologne. Due to her injury, she still had issues placing and recognizing her face so it was hard for her to identify the familiar smell. She stood up from the bed, surprised that her pounding headache from earlier was gone.
• When she stood up, it suddenly felt like Dane was in the room with her, not just there but his presence engulfed her so much that it felt like he was almost inside her. She smiled so hard as she turned to see if he was behind her but he wasn't. She wondered if a side complication from her injury was feeling things that weren't there but despite the fact that he wasn't there with, she could swear that his presence lingered in the room like he was there and walking around in the room felt like walking under his passionate gaze.
• She went to draw the curtain but the feeling of Dane presence in the room was so strong that she couldn't resist the urge to call out his room. Even if he wasn't there, maybe calling him would make this feel more real to her.
