Chapter 16

• After Dane's visit to the jail, he decided not to press charges against Ciara, instead he opted for having her spend some days in jail as punishment for her crimes. Despite being furious for what she did, Dane still nursed a soft spot for her. After all, she was his partner before Alexia came into the picture so after signing the necessary documents for Ciara's release, he made sure she spent extra days behind bars. Ciara hated the fact that Alexia was able to come between her and Dane so much that he would be willing to lock her up for days.
• On the day of her release, instead of the joyous and relieved feeling one would expect from Ciara, she was moody and frowned all through the checking procedures. She nursed the anger of being abandoned by the man she loved and was willing to do anything to get back with. How could he do that because of a mere contractual marriage? She had loved Dane for so long that not bring with him felt like the end of the world and due to the type of family she came from, she had no one else to love her or show affection for her so when Dane came by and gave her everything she thought she wanted, she gave him her all.
• She loved him with everything in her, hoping that one they would end up together and that one day, they would have a family better than hers and she would raise kids to be like Dane but now, all that plans had gone down the drain because Dane is now head over heels for someone else even if he failed to admit it to himself, she knew that he was beginning to love her and in no time, things would become rosy between them, leaving her with nothing but a broken heart and failed plans.
