Chapter 40 Mixed Signal

  • I came back to my consciousness with someone slightly shaking me. Slowly, and still drowning in alcohol, I opened my eyes and was slightly blinded by the neon lights. Pink and green. Squinting, I realized that it was Hazel. Saying something on my face but all her words are vague. All I could hear was she was calling my name after my name. Later on, when I couldn't grasp on what she was saying, she leaned towards me and I felt her arm wrapped around my waist. Hazel guided me to walk while my drunken body wouldn't cooperate making the both of us almost stumble on the floor. Luckily, someone's shadow just came in time and I heard a vague conversation between Hazel and that someone. I could hear that Hazel was scolding me yet, I laughed while still on her shoulder. Drunk. And later on, threw up.
  • Hazel gasped. And that was followed by someone's curse. I don't know who's the owner of the voice though. All I want is to sleep. I couldn't take it anymore. My world is spinning and it is making me feel woozy even more. Oh, God! Why did I do it? Those shots of vodka are making me sick!
  • “L–Let's g–go...” It was me, in my drunken state, telling those words to Hazel and even daring to walk alone. But with a single step, I just took, I fell on someone's arm, and before I could react dark wins.
