Chapter 18 Shelley

• After getting a call from Damon last night, and after arguing with him, he didn't call me again. Casually, I check my phone to see whether there is a text from him or a missed call. But the asshole seems to forget me. Not that I am coming from something– jealousy or any expectation– rather, I just want him to remember that he is the one who brought me into this situation.
• “He's with Shelley, his best friend,” it was Leah from last night, dropping someone's name who seemed to be too close to his brother.
• I don't care whether he dated other girls. But I do care for myself. If he is going to date someone in the first place, then what is the point of our agreement? I am not forbidding him to unwind with someone, to chill anywhere but we have a contract. I will be his wife and he will be my husband. In the eyes of other people especially his family, we are committed to each other. But for what he did, having a vacation with his best friend– just the two of them– he is obviously spoiling our agreement. So what is the point of continuing this shit?
