Chapter 24 The Day
- Damon's POV
- “Break her up, Dam,” It was Shelley, with her pleading eyes settled on me. Tears beamed on its side, as her nose crunched a little. “Marry me instead,” she added, as she reached for my hand placed on top of the table.
- I stared at her. She has been my best friend ever since I was a kid and I promised myself that I would never let her cry. But now, Shelley was crying because of me. The guilt chewed me but I had to do this for I might only hurt her more. I knew it, from the moment we turned teenagers, I knew that she had her eyes on me. She even confessed to me before I went abroad for my studies but no matter how I tried to convince myself that I might like her too in the future, it was futile.
