Chapter 16 Because I Never Lie
- Mariah stared at the panting man in front of her. He killed them, he killed those men and he is here asking about her? What could be going on, didn’t he want to kill her too?
- “This is going to be painful.” She heard and stared at him to notice that he was looking at the spear on her chest. “Try to hold your breath,” he said. His voice was shaky and she didn’t know if it was with worry for her or because he was in pain himself. Although she couldn’t understand what was going on, she held her breath like he said he grabbed the spearhead and broke it off. Mariah heard his sharp intake of breath and glanced at him sharply but he had his eyes closed. His lips were pale just like his face. When he opened his eyes, they were almost black and he gulped and pulled the spear from behind her.
- Mariah gasped as it finally felt like whatever was holding her strength had been burst open. However, she has lost a good amount of blood and she wondered if she would still be alive by the time she fully healed.
