• HAYLEY’S P.O.V
• The last thing I expected to hear today was dad telling me that he was going to personally take me to Jake’s house. It was out of character and it was weird but the more I asked, the more evasive he became until he finally told me to ask Jake when we arrived.
• I was even more confused when he had a driver take us. My father had a driver on retainer but he almost never used him unless he was going somewhere important. I didn’t realize he considered Jake’s house important like that but I remained silent the entire car ride.
