• The only good thing about not knowing if it was day or night was that Max needed to sleep and could do so, because sleeping was better than thinking. In that small space, he had everything he needed, ate little and only what he fancied, the nausea pills had helped a lot and it also helped that the cargo ship was so heavy that it didn't move at all.
• He knew what day and time it was only by his phone's calendar, but sometimes he would go out in the early hours of the morning, around four, to breathe some fresh air and see the sea.
• It had been twelve long and painful days, Max wondered how Liam was doing and if he would ever think of her, but he knew Travis was right, as long as he didn't know anything about her, he wouldn't pose a threat to Alcott and he would be fine. He would be safe.
