Chapter 26 A Special Speech

• If there was one thing Maxine Jhonson had in abundance, it was the desire to help others. In the sea of lies she swam in to maintain her alibi in front of Liam, there were many truths, and growing up in an orphanage was one of them. Unfortunately for those who grew up in orphanages, there were only two possible paths: distance or responsibility, and Max had chosen the latter.
• Growing up without parents was tough, but she had good people around to help her find her way, which is why she felt that giving back some of what she had received was the right thing to do.
• The following week was hectic, Max traded her heels for low-heeled boots and Liam was annoyed because his executives couldn't stop drooling over her.
