Chapter 17 Nadia Valencia
- On the outskirts of the Zhufun estate, Nadia Valencia sighs at her luck while Gabriel tries to comfort her. They have been living on this small farm in the middle of the forest for two weeks now, and she feels annoyed and bored, but above all, angry due to their precarious life. For her, this place is horrendous, dirty, without any comforts, and the cold goes straight to her bones. The mosquitoes won't let her sleep at night, not to mention that they haven't had a decent meal since they came here.
- "You said we would only be here for a few days," she confronts him. "I can't stand this place anymore, Gabriel. It's not what you promised me. I don't deserve this. Just look at my hair, my nails, my legs are covered in mosquito bites. We haven't eaten anything besides chicken for all these days. The water is not drinkable and it gives me stomach discomfort, and on top of that, I can't even take a proper bath to relax."
- "You know our situation, Nadia. You know that your father's men are hot on our trail. They are scouring the entire area, and it's risky for us to leave right now and look for a better place. Just give me a little more time, and I'll find a way to elude them so that we can finally leave for my uncle's house."
