Chapter 5 Black Wedding Dress

  • The man wasn't lying when he said we would buy our wedding attire, which is why I enter screaming and kicking at the boutique that only takes care of picking up my shoes and accessories that fall in the struggle.
  • The man twice my size throws me against a piece of furniture and watches me with his murderous gaze, preventing me from even moving.
  • "Take her to see all the wedding dresses, have her try on the ones she likes, and help her choose the best one," he orders angrily, before taking out his phone.
  • "You can't do this to me."
  • "I need everything prepared now," the man says as soon as he answers the call. "As you heard, we will get married today."
  • He says the last sentence while looking directly into my eyes, as if waiting for me to deny it so he can punish me. Even my rebellious side remains silent, realizing he might be capable of killing me if I refuse.
  • "Sir, is there a wedding dress for right now?"
  • "As I said. I want the perfect wedding dress. So, make sure to prepare it. I'll be back in three hours and we will get married," the man says as he walks towards the exit.
  • "If you were going to take me out of my moment of ecstasy, you should stay to make up for it!"
  • "I left an important meeting to come look for you. I have to finish some matters to marry my rebellious fiancée. So, behave or I will tie you up and drag you to the altar," he says as he leaves.
  • I immediately scream at the top of my lungs, but it seems to have no effect on him. He leaves as if I don't exist. Seeing that he's gone, I try to escape, but everyone seems to form a security ring where I can't get out.
  • Although I want to throw everything to hell and run away from here, I can't, because even though I don't choose dresses, the employees forcibly take off my clothes and put on dresses that I destroy.
  • "Look, miss. You can destroy five hundred dresses in this store. We don't care, because your fiancé will pay for everything. But, what you should know is that if you don't find a wedding dress here, they will take you to another boutique and the next one until they find one.
  • "Even if you destroy all the wedding dresses in the country at inhuman speed, it won't delay the wedding, because Mr. Volkova is so important that they are capable of bringing him the dress from the farthest country by jet so it doesn't take long. So, choose if you want to spend your next few hours throwing a fit or get out of this once and for all."
  • Anger overwhelms me because I'm not getting what I want, but I don't stop and take a step, not wanting to feel like the caged animal I already am.
  • "Fine, I won't destroy another wedding dress. But, I won't try on another one of these stupid dresses."
  • "Alright, tell us what you want and we'll get it for you."
  • "I want a black wedding dress," I demand angrily, and everyone looks at each other.
  • "What did she say?"
  • "I want a black wedding dress and a hat that only a fashion-blind widow would wear," I order, and everyone looks at each other.
  • The bodyguards look at each other with concern and nod, so the employees leave.
  • 'If you want us to get married, we'll do it my way,' I tell myself mentally.
  • Four hours later.
  • The hours pass and the groom doesn't arrive. So, I celebrate internally while my dress barely arrives.
  • “Miss, we need to take you back, the gentleman had to leave on a business trip.
  • “So, there won't be a wedding?
  • “Not until he arrives.” the man says, and I celebrate.
  • “Then there will never be a wedding. Dress me in my wedding dress, if he doesn't come in an hour, I won't marry.” I say firmly.
  • Immediately, everyone prepares me as if I were getting married, while I savor the victory of not getting married and pretending to be hurt waiting for my fiancé, because he prioritized his business over our wedding.
  • The hour passes and I leave the room where they have quickly prepared me, smiling, I raise my gaze to make a scene of the abandoned bride, but what I find is two men smiling at me.
  • My father, in a black suit tailored to fit him, and my supposed fiancé, in white clothes with a black handkerchief.
  • “You look beautiful, fiancée.
  • “But, what happened? You were supposed to be on a business trip.” I say looking at the man who informed me of that.
  • “Oh, I was going to, but as soon as I found out you wanted to get married in an hour, I delayed the trip. Let's get married, darling.” he says approaching me and I step back trying to escape.
  • But he anticipates my movements and as if it were customary, he lifts me onto his shoulder while I hit his back and chest with my hands and legs.
  • “Let me go! I'm not going to marry you!” I shout, but he doesn't let go and that's why we leave in the same car where I shout many things at him, but nothing breaks his pride or strength.
  • As soon as the car stops, I cling to everything I can, but I am easily pulled out of the car, and then I see many flashes that leave me blind for several seconds.
  • “We are here to witness a surprising wedding! The future spouses not only were unpredictable with the colors chosen for their clothes, but they have made the wedding ceremony known only minutes before the ceremony!
  • “Is there anything you would like to say, Mr. Volkova?! “someone from the audience asks.
  • “Yes, try to make me look younger, I don't want anyone who sees the news to think a girl married an old man.
  • Everyone laughs.
  • “He would never be an old man. He looks like he's twenty years old, Mr. Volkova. Tell us your secret and why you look so good.
  • “My dear future wife. They say a young and energetic woman is the collagen of your life.” the man beside me says, and I pinch him.
  • Several bodyguards surround us and help us move through the venue, while I try to hide or leave in another direction.
  • “Decide, darling, do you want to make a scene here to look like the fool throwing a tantrum on her wedding day, or are you going to marry me? “the man beside me asks.” Change that expression and move forward.
  • “If you don't, it's no problem, because even if you ruin this, my reputation won't take away my sleep, after all, if it's ruined, I don't mind being the man everyone wants again, but won't you care what your fans say? They told me you're very popular.
  • “Behave now, Day! Stop being childish!
  • “Fine, I'll get married.” I say exhausted.
  • “Perfect, I'll be at the end of the aisle, I'm the guy in white.” says the old man I will marry.
  • 'I will be the woman in black, going to her own funeral, one they call a wedding. But I will not be the only one suffering in this hell, I assure you, old man,' I tell myself mentally, while my father scolds me with his gaze.
  • They will pay for this.
