Chapter 13 I Guess I Live Here Now

• Once the car stopped in front of the grand staircase at the main entrance, Victoria took a deep breath, mentally preparing herself to face her new and unexpected reality. When Todd opened the car door for her, she got out without hesitation and slowly climbed the stairs until she reached the large double door. Taking her time, she looked around. It felt like a nightmare. She couldn't come to terms with the fact that she couldn't go back home. The only thing she regretted was not being able to see her siblings whenever she wanted. As for her parents... she had had enough.
• After standing for 15 minutes admiring the green view, she decided to enter the house. Nikolay, the butler, opened the door for her, giving her a warm greeting. Unsure of where to go, she ran into Doris in the middle of the foyer.
• "I'm glad you're back! Would you like a refreshment?" Doris asked enthusiastically with her characteristic Russian accent.
