• They were all comfortably seated on the couch, she and Roth having found a topic they were both very thrilled to talk about, however Tristan did not seem to drive the same pleasure out of it, because he was the topic.
• “Tristan has always been a quiet boy - he never spoke much, not my Tristan,” She spoke as Tristan looked around in embarrassment and Roth listened enthusiastically, “He used to go so long without speaking that sometimes people would think he is mute.”
• “Once we had guests over for Tristan's big brother's wedding and Tristan didn't speak for three days, they assumed he was mute but didn't ask any questions, because that would be rude. Then one day Tristan just spoke and they freaked out, started congratulating us and we just sat dumbfounded…” The roar of laughter that erupted from Roth's mouth interrupted her, but she joined him in laughing, as Tristan rolled his eyes.
