• Pocketing his phone, he instantly received a message from Tristan wishing him good luck. He knew Tristan would refrain from texting him for the time being. In the early stages of their relationship, they sent each other constant messages, but now they could go days without texting, their message history encompassing only reminders to purchase more milk or notifications of Oliver's project-related absences.
• After a brief nap, Tristan awoke to the sound of the TV show he had been watching. It was then that he decided to order pizza, before fixing his attention on the enormous flat screen mounted on the wall in front of him.
• Tristan had fallen asleep while watching the TV show. Unbeknownst to him, at 9:35 PM, all channels temporarily paused to announce that a powerful thunderstorm was approaching New York City, advising everyone to stay home.
