• Eleanor’s call brought Roth back to his senses, as her name shone at the top of the screen just above the close-up of Tristan’s lips. Brought back to reality, Roth felt embarrassed of what he had been doing a while ago, as if someone had caught him in the act.
• He hurriedly picked up the phone - she was just checking up on him and the situation at home. Perhaps she sensed his panic from his voice, because she stopped speaking for a while, and then said, “Roth, had you been crying?”
• Roth let out a dry laugh, “What, no, why would I cry!”
