• He was about to dial Roth’s number again when his screen was blocked by an incoming call from Eleanor. He was not in a mood to talk to anyone right then until he heard from Roth but he had accidentally picked up Eleanor’s call while trying to dial Roth.
• Rolling his eyes, he turned on the speaker and tried to maintain a cheery voice, “Hello Eleanor, how are you?”
• “Are you crazy? How I am? How are YOU?” Eleanor’s shrill voice boomed in the room, hitting Tristan’s auditory nerves as he maintained a bored expression, waiting for her to be done so he could call Roth, “Yeah, I am okay. What’s up?”
