Chapter 128
- She whispered as hot tears burned down her eyes, she let them follow, this was something she never thought would happen to her, something she never, she got off her restroom after taking a bath and went to lay down in her bedroom, she spent the rest of the afternoon just laying there with no thoughts at all, her head was blank as she waited to wake up from her dream but nothing happened, she finally got up after a whole and took off her clothes, she stood in from of her mirror staring at her body, it did look like she was pregnant but she felt it could be her own projection, she just couldn’t conclude, she wasn’t letting her believe it, she went to bed while doing her best to not have any thoughts but it was hard.
- The next morning, Ruby was up early, she needed to be at the hospital because she had a scheduled delivery but she had called in sick and had a different doctor help with the delivery, she was already thinking of taking a leave to care for herself and make sure she is able to carry the baby to term, the chances of a miscarriage was low because she was almost done with her first trimester, if she wasn’t done already, she would do a scan to be sure today and that’s why she was up early.
- She didn’t want to use the scan center at the hospital where she worked, people will start asking questions in a matter of time because everything that happens in that hospital pretty much spread everywhere around the hospital just like when Dave was stripped of his post as director and his license to practice taken away permanently, it has spread like wildfire and it didn’t take long for them to figure out what he did, serves him right though, he got what he deserved and yes, he was in jail, he got fifteen years sentence and the doctors who went with him also got so prison terms and their license revoked. The coolest of them all was the Sloan guy getting a life sentence. She felt relieved that such a bad man would spend his remaining miserable years on earth behind bars. It wasn’t enough justice for the deed he had done but it was better than nothing, better than him walking free.
