Chapter 70
- Nick's point of view.
- The next morning, I was in a bad mood and sitting at my desk, ripping out my hair. I had a hard time sleeping the night before. That look on Lalaine's face would not leave my mind. It scared me. Her eyes looked different in some way. That look was familiar to me. It was something I just couldn't put my finger on.
- She told me lies. Though she wouldn't say why she was crying, I was able to figure it out on my own. I figured it out right away. She was locked up in my house. Even though I pretty much let her go, she was still my prisoner and had to give in to my baser urges whenever I felt like it. What made me think that she might find that insulting in the first place? A lot of women did throw themselves at me, but they did it because they wanted to, not because they were paid to and couldn't help it.
