- "Polly, I need to warn you. Back off," I said in the scariest voice I could muster. "The last time I looked, I was the boss and you were the worker. Don't come in here like you're going to question me about something that has nothing to do with you."
- "You don't scare me, Nick Luther Crawford," she told me as she stood up and pointed her finger at me. „I don't know what's wrong, but you know what? I'll keep looking into it until I find out.
