Chapter 101
- It seemed silly to Lalaine now that she had ever thought Nick's life and hers were too different for them to have a life together. When you stripped away the money and the luxurious possessions, weren't they all just human underneath? Money truly couldn't buy love, and while it could change some people, that didn't mean everyone with wealth were snobbish. In truth, Lalaine realized she was the snob for believing that Nick and his loved ones weren't suitable for her world. Not only were they more than good enough, but they had already become an integral part of her life. Lalaine couldn't recall her life before Nick, and she couldn't bear to imagine a future without him.
- "Yeah, I think I like that idea. We'll all go together," Lalaine said as she pulled away from Nick and took his hand instead before turning back to her father. "Tell Mom I love her, and I'll be in to see her as soon as I'm allowed, okay?"
- "Sure thing, sweetie," her father answered.
