Chapter 94 Awkward Incident at the Hospital 5

• It was nightfall by the time Chadwick entered the ward. He had had dinner before this, and now that it was nighttime, the hallway lights were dimmed and added an eeriness to the hospital ward. Once in a while, he would hear moans of pain coming from down the hallway and feel the hair on the back of his neck stand to attention. He couldn't fathom how a building so densely packed with patients could still feel as if it was devoid of life and warmth, not to mention be so ominous and frightening.
• Madison had yet to fall asleep when Chadwick opened the door to her room and walked in. She had all the lights on as she lay in bed, scrolling her phone. Judging by the anxious look on her face, he reckoned that she was frightened as well, and her relief was evident when she saw him.
• "These are all the things you'll need for your stay here, and this is the bag of stuff you asked me to bring," he announced as he laid out the baggage that he had categorized next to her pillow. "And here is the bank card you told me about. You can withdraw the cash and pay me back when you've been released. It's not as if Samantha is in dire need of cash, anyway, and she can afford to wait for a week."
