Chapter 324 The Gift (Fifteen)
- This is the solution that Chadwick Fullner came up with after yesterday. It is a self-service model for customers. He was actually uncertain about it. What if people don't pay? What if they just take the vegetables and leave? But he really couldn't manage it all by himself. He only had two hands, not eight. Nevertheless, he wanted to give it a try. He reassured himself, believing that only a small number of people had low morals and wouldn't pay. However, he was still concerned, so he added a final sentence, thinking that the more he emphasized it, the more embarrassed people would feel about not paying.
- He arranged a scale, a stack of plastic bags, and a basket on both sides of the stall for collecting money. When he was present, he would handle one side to sell himself, and let customers manage the other side. Additionally, he hung a small speaker above the stall, continuously repeating, "Sorry, I don't have enough hands to manage everything. Please help yourself by selecting vegetables, weighing them, paying, and receiving change. Thank you, everyone."
- During peak hours, Chadwick Fullner became extremely busy. Initially, customers were a bit puzzled when they saw the items Chadwick Fullner had prepared and heard the announcements from the loudspeaker. However, when one customer started picking and weighing the vegetables themselves, others followed suit. People tend to follow the crowd - once someone initiates an action, everyone else joins in. Subconsciously, this strategy worked quite effectively. When it was time for Chadwick Fullner to deliver the vegetables to the restaurants, he placed both baskets on either side, with the loudspeaker still playing. He transferred most of the money from the money basket into his own pockets, then carried the baskets to deliver the vegetables, leaving the stall unattended. He wasn't certain about the outcome, but he had no other choice - he was alone and had to give it a try for a day, even if it meant losing money.
