Chapter 290 That Night (Eight)
- Chadwick Fullner was on the lookout for someone to discuss vegetable deliveries. This was a challenging task because most restaurants already had their own regular suppliers. People tend to stick with what is convenient, and unless they were dissatisfied with their current supplier, they wouldn't consider switching. That's why Chadwick Fullner brought gifts when he visited these restaurants. Despite his efforts, the success rate was low. After spending the entire afternoon searching, most restaurants dismissed Chadwick Fullner without much conversation. In this industry, everyone adhered to the same pricing guidelines for supplying vegetables to restaurants. Breaking this norm was rare, so without a competitive price advantage, attracting new customers was difficult. However, after visiting over a dozen small restaurants in the area, Chadwick Fullner did manage to secure agreements with two of them to start deliveries the next day. Perhaps they were not entirely satisfied with their previous supplier, or maybe they were impressed by the gifts Chadwick Fullner brought. Although it was only two successful deals, it was a significant achievement for Chadwick Fullner. These would be long-term, stable clients. Despite the lower profit margins compared to selling at the market, the volume of orders from these restaurants made it worthwhile.
- Chadwick Fullner didn't return home until after six in the evening, just as it was getting dark. He was exhausted, but he also felt a sense of fulfillment.
- On his way back, Chadwick Fullner stopped by the market to buy some salad and meat. Just as he was about to head home, he received a call from Tina, who said she had finished work and wanted to come over. Chadwick Fullner thought for a moment, then turned back to the market to buy more meat and ribs before finally heading home. Once back, Chadwick Fullner started cooking in the kitchen. When the food was almost ready, Tina called again. He turned off the stove and rushed out to meet her at the end of the alley. They went back home together, and Chadwick Fullner continued cooking.
