• Crissy shoved Jeri and stood in a crouched position in front of her. Jeri froze when she saw the man coming toward them. She glanced to see if Kara was going to knock him out like she had the others, but Kara was halfway across the floor now, aiming at two men rushing down the stairs toward Autumn.
• “Nothing to climb,” Crissy said, and Jeri didn’t know what that meant.
• “Do you require assistance, heart?” Victor’s tone was the complete opposite as it had been moments before.
