Chapter 36 Their Unforgivable Torture

• He nodded his head and walked back over to the chair he was sitting on that say next to Avery’s bed. “Go ahead little wolf. I’m sorry I startled you.”
• Avery smiled softly. “You didn’t. I’m grateful that I’ll be cared for and looked after here.” He shifted on the bed slightly and then continued, while fidgeting with his hands. “Night and day I would pray and ask the Moon Goddess to protect us and take us away from that horrible place. I was forced to cook and clean for the entire pack, even out of the packhouse. I would try and get food, but they would threaten to chop my hands off. After that one time, I didn’t try again; I would be watched day in and day out by the warriors and by the Luna herself.”
