Chapter 12 An Electrical Current

• While Derreck was in the kitchen and away from Denice, she used an incognito window on the laptop to book her flight for the following day to head to her grandfather’s home country. She would tell him all the details of the recent events when she got there. For now, she just needed to focus on getting out of Aurenda and creating a name for herself. Denice had always kept in contact with her Grandfather, but she never mentioned it for obvious reasons. While Derreck and Joshua were in the kitchen, they spoke lowly and briefly. Joshua had a playful smirk that danced across his features.
• “So that’s why you had that smile on your face yesterday?”
• “Mind your business, little brother. She’s leaving the country anyway.”
