Chapter 693 She Has Had Enough
- “I’ve never seen anyone dumber than you.” Irony filled Jordy’s cold eyes. Before leaving, he warned her in a cold voice, “Don’t ever think you can do whatever you want with Grandma’s protection. This is my last warning for you, Gloria White. Goodbye.” Then Jordy left without looking back. When the door was closed, strength seemed to have drained from Gloria’s body. She slumped on the bed. Propping herself with one hand, she didn’t fall. Yanking herself out of the memories, Gloria was sitting on the bed, just like that day. The difference was that she didn’t have to prop herself up today. An ironic look flashed across her eyes. This place only carried her memories of a miserable and tragic life. Probably because she had been single for too long, she had even forgotten the unpleasant things that happened between Jordy and her. Or probably because Jordy’s attitude towards her was different from before, those memories gradually faded. However, when she came back, she felt those memories come back to her. The misery and tragedy she had suffered seemed to have happened yesterday. There was a knock on the door. Gloria lifted her eyes to look at the door without moving because she knew it was Jordy. She vaguely remembered she drifted into sleep in his car and then she didn’t know what happened later. It must be he who took her here. But why didn’t he wake her up? Gloria frowned slightly and said quietly, “Come in.” The door was pushed open. Jordy looked calm, which formed a sharp contrast to his cold face in her memories. “Have you slept well?”
- Gloria shot daggers at him, forming a sharp contrast to her old humble self as well. Jordy’s eyes narrowed. He clearly sensed that she was in a bad mood. After a while, Gloria said in a deep voice, “Why did you take me here?” “You fell asleep last night,” Jordy answered expressionlessly. “You can wake me up.” “But you looked so tired. I have no access to your house, so I bring you here.” This place was where she used to live, so Jordy guessed this place would not repulse her. But what he didn’t know was that this place carried Gloria’s bad memories. Gloria remained indifferent. Instead of saying anything, she got up and went to the bathroom. But… The memories came back to her again when she walked in. One day, while she was washing up in the bathroom, Jordy barged in like the last time and questioned her about Angela. Gloria closed her eyes.
- She thought she had let bygones be bygones, but those memories just kept coming back to her. After the divorce, she had never recalled those things, but when she came back here, she had flashbacks again and again. She felt awful. Gloria tried her best to control her emotions. After calming down a little bit, she washed up and walked out. Seeing that Jordy was still in the bedroom, Gloria frowned slightly. Nevertheless, it was his house, so she didn’t intend to say anything but walked out. She didn’t want to stay here for a second longer. She had had enough of living here. Seeing Gloria leave silently, his eyes were dark. And yet he followed her out. Following her downstairs and seeing Gloria walking outside, he frowned immediately. “Where are you going?” I Told You I Am Not in The Mood “I am going to work.” “Eat your breakfast.” There was breakfast laid on the table. But Gloria wasn’t in the mood to join him. Starving as she was, she said drily, “I’m not hungry. There is some urgent business waiting for me to deal with in the office.”
