Chapter 558 More Decent Than You
- Gloria stopped in her tracks and looked back at the man. Claude saw hope, heaved a sigh of relief, and continued, “Let’s go. It’s just a meal. What are you afraid of? I won’t eat you.” Nydia looked at Gloria with concern. She sensed Gloria’s intention to go and grinned at Claude, “It happens that I’m hungry. Mr. White, do you mind taking me along with you?” Irene smiled and echoed, “Yeah, me too.” Claude looked upset. He only wanted to have a private talk with Gloria. Just as he was about to refuse, another voice rang out. “Good idea. I am staving. Mr. White, do you mind if I come along?” The frivolous voice made Claude change color. He could say no to Irene and Nydia. There was no way he dared to turn this man down. It was out of the question. He put on a spurious smile. “I’m more than glad to dine with you.‘ Nydia glanced at the man in confusion. Why does he want to join in the occasion? Could it be that… She studied George’s expression. Is Jordy concerned about Gloria, and as his friend, George helps him protect Gloria? It’s possible.
- Although she didn’t like to have George around, Gloria’s safety came first. Claude and his family had done a ton of terrible things, and it was not a bad idea to have a man with them. Not impressed by Claude’s flattery, George arched his brow and nodded. “Let’s go then. I’ll take their car and see you in the restaurant.” Claude was stunned. His smile went stiff. He was resistant deep down. On the surface, he played along and nodded. “Okay, see you in a moment.” He then turned to look at Gloria. “I’ve sent you the address. I’ll meet you there.” Without a response, Gloria turned around and headed to the underground parking lot. Nydia and Irene followed. Before Nydia could take a step, her arm was grabbed. She looked back and saw George’s sullen face. Her eyelids twitched, but she played dumb. “What are you doing? Mind your manners in public. You have no sense of shame, but I am a decent woman.” She tried to shake off his hand.
- George would not give her a chance. With a smile, he resorted, “Is that so? I’m not sure about that.” His smile didn’t reach his eyes, and his tone was meaningful. Nydia bristled and spat, “Bullshit! I am a girl and more decent than you.” George snorted, refusing to go. “You should give me an explanation today. I don’t get it. Who are you talking about? I’d like to know who is so terrible in your mind.” Nydia was speechless. I’ve made it so clear. Are you dumb? Do you need me to lie? What a toxic man! Gloria and Irene both heard it. They didn’t look back since this was between Nydia and George. They couldn’t poke their noses in it. Teach Her a Lesson Although there were some grudges between them, everyone was clear about the cause. Gloria knew that George would not harm Nydia. So, Irene and she just continued their way forward.
